Bulgarian Citizenship
Bulgarian citizenship offers a number of benefits:
- Visa-free travel to 169 countries around the world
- Bulgarian citizens are full citizens of the European Union, and are entitled to ‘freedom of movement’ (including visa-free travel to the remaining 28 member states of the EU)
- No physical residence requirements during or after the application procedure (exceptions may apply)
- Dual Citizenship is permitted; there is no need to denounce other citizenship
- Citizens have the right to attend schools and universities within any EU country at special tuition rates for EU nationals, right to receive student loans and financial assistance

Acquisition of Bulgarian Citizenship
Bulgarian citizenship can be granted under four main categories stipulated in the Bulgarian Citizenship Act:
- Bulgarian Citizenship by Origin
- Bulgarian Citizenship by Naturalization
- Bulgarian Citizenship by Marriage
